Weeds damage asphalt, stone paths and building edges, make maintenance harder and give business and public areas a neglected look. Eko-tim d.o.o. controls weeds in car parks, industrial and storage zones and around buildings in Sarajevo and throughout Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Why weeds should be removed

Weed roots widen cracks in asphalt, concrete and joints between paving slabs, so damage grows over time and repairs become more expensive. Dry weeds next to buildings and warehouses increase the risk of fire, and dense vegetation gives shelter to rodents, snakes and ticks. Ragweed, which is common on neglected land, is one of the strongest causes of pollen allergy in late summer.

Total and selective weed control

Total weed control removes all vegetation from areas where nothing should grow – car parks, railways, industrial zones and paths. Selective weed control kills weeds while keeping grass and desired plants.

How we work

The technician inspects the area, recommends the type of treatment and timing, and applies an approved product by spraying. For businesses and public institutions we do both one-off treatments and regular maintenance under contract.

Products work best on actively growing weeds, so the best time for treatment is from spring to early autumn. We treat in dry, calm weather, with no wind and no rain forecast, so the product does not drift onto nearby plants or get washed away. Ragweed is best destroyed before it flowers, that is, by midsummer.

Protecting the surroundings

We use only approved products and apply them in a targeted way, taking particular care near watercourses, wells, vegetable gardens and playgrounds. The technician tells you how long people and animals should stay off the treated area.

What to expect

Weeds do not disappear straight away – the first changes are visible after a few days, and plants dry out completely within one to three weeks, depending on the species and the weather. On areas where seeds keep arriving with wind or water, treatment needs to be repeated during the season, which is why we recommend regular maintenance to most businesses.
