Fumigation

In some places pests cannot be controlled by spraying – attics, basements, large warehouses, silos and large outdoor areas. That is where we use fumigation: a smoke generator produces dense smoke that carries the product into cracks and hidden spots. Eko-tim d.o.o. provides fumigation in Sarajevo and throughout Bosnia and Herzegovina.

When fumigation is the right choice

The droplets in the smoke are so fine that they stay airborne and reach places a sprayer cannot – behind shelving, between goods, into the roof structure and into wall cavities. That makes fumigation suitable for:

• large halls, warehouses and silos where the whole space needs to be treated at once
• attics, basements and other spaces full of hidden corners
• flying insects, such as flies and mosquitoes, over large outdoor areas
• stored-product pests – moths and weevils in food and grain stores

How we work

The technician inspects the premises, assesses whether fumigation is the right method and gives you preparation instructions. No people or animals may stay in the space during treatment. Afterwards you get instructions on when and how to air out the space before using it again.

Preparing the space

• put away or cover open food, dishes and animal feed
• take pets out, and cover aquariums and terrariums and switch off their air pumps
• let us know in advance if the building has fire detectors – smoke can set them off, so they need to be temporarily switched off
• let neighbours or people working in adjacent spaces know when the treatment will take place

For warehouses and production facilities

Fumigation is suited to large spaces that need to be treated all at once. After every job we issue a certificate of the services performed, valid for health inspections.

We schedule the treatment so it does not disrupt your work – usually outside working hours, at weekends or when the warehouse is empty. For businesses we also prepare HACCP and ISO pest control plans and offer regular preventive maintenance contracts.
