Fly control

Flies carry bacteria from waste and manure onto food and surfaces, which makes them a constant problem for restaurants, the food industry, farms and landfills. Eko-tim d.o.o. provides indoor and outdoor fly control in Sarajevo and throughout Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Why flies come back so quickly

A single female house fly lays several hundred eggs in waste, manure and other rotting organic matter. In warm weather it takes only about ten days to go from egg to adult fly, so numbers can multiply within a few weeks. That is why killing adult flies alone does not solve the problem – the places where the larvae hatch have to be found and treated.

How we work

The technician inspects the premises and finds where the flies breed. Depending on the site, we treat indoor spaces, bin areas, yards and areas around farms and landfills with approved biocides.

Fly control combines two things: treating breeding sites to kill the larvae, and treating the surfaces where adult flies rest – walls, ceilings, door and window frames and the area around bins. On large outdoor areas and in large halls we also use fumigation.

For restaurants and farms

For businesses we offer regular preventive maintenance contracts, prepare HACCP and ISO pest control plans, and issue a certificate valid for health inspections after every job.

In kitchens and food areas we apply the product in a targeted way, away from food-contact surfaces, and tell you what to put away or cover before treatment. On farms we plan the treatment so that it is safe for the animals.

How to stop flies from breeding

• empty and wash waste bins and containers regularly
• keep food and waste covered
• fit screens on windows and doors
• remove manure and organic waste from near buildings
• do not leave spilled food and drink or leftover pet food lying around
