Insect Control
Control of harmful insects and ticks using physical, biological and chemical methods.
Insect control (disinsection) is a set of mechanical, biological and chemical measures and procedures aimed at eliminating, suppressing or reducing the number of harmful insects and ticks. It is carried out as a preventive measure in food production and retail facilities, healthcare institutions, kindergartens and schools, residential units, public areas and similar. We use insecticides and repellents that meet the highest environmental standards. These are mostly odourless products that leave no visible traces on surfaces and have a long-lasting effect.
Goal
Many insects and ticks are not only carriers of infectious diseases but also serious pests that cause material damage in agriculture, food storage and property. The goal of insect control is therefore not only to remove unpleasant parasites from our surroundings, but also to protect the health of people and domestic animals, as well as property.Insect control methods
- Physical methodsPhysical methods of insect control include mechanical or manual removal of insects, mechanical traps, and the use of heat, ionising or other radiation, ultrasound, electric current and similar.
- Biological methodsThis method relies on natural predators that induce pathological conditions in insects, limit their reproduction and cause the death of insects and ticks.
- Chemical methodsThese methods rely on toxic substances that kill the target insect (insecticides) or on repellents that keep insects away.
How it is carried out
Insect control is carried out by specialised organisations or services and by individuals trained for this work, in several stages:
- Inspection of the premises and level of infestationOn site, trained staff talk to the client, carry out a detailed inspection of the premises, set up pheromone sticky traps or use flushing agents to drive insects out of their hiding places, in order to determine where the infestation is and how severe it is.
- PlanningPlanning includes choosing the insecticide and the method, and estimating the materials, working hours and staff required.
- TreatmentTreatment is usually carried out by combining several procedures:
- spraying with hand sprayers
- spraying with motorised sprayers
- cold fogging with electric devices
- thermal fogging with electric or petrol-powered devices
- dusting and applying specific insecticide baits
- setting up various traps.
Follow-up inspection
The success of the treatment is verified by talking to the client, a repeated detailed inspection of the premises, and by setting up pheromone sticky traps or using flushing agents.Request a quote.
